    Countryside Bliss!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at La Cave Margot for one week in September. We went from the hustle and bustle of Paris to the peaceful and beautiful countryside. Our accommodations were in a newly renovated and very large home, tastefully done and beautifully appointed with a large bedroom, living room, extremely comfortable queen size bed, two day beds, a small refridgerator along with a stocked fridge and snacks if you wished to purchase them. The shower was amazing! The windows were nearly floor to ceiling with electronic shutters throughout the large, three rooms. I miss pressing the buttons each morning and night. Outside there was a patio with a table and chairs allocated for each rental unit that viewed a large, pristine and secluded property with its own bakers oven. Although this is also a home, all units were situated to offer total privacy. Nathalie and Nicolas, our host and hostess, were perfect! Both were able to communicate in english very well although I did try with a little french. We call it Franglais! Nathalie would discuss the time you would like breakfast each evening and she went to great lengths to accommodate my gluten free diet. I am still missing her crepes and tartlettes, freshly baked awaiting us each morning. She also offered to make a specialty dinner for us any time for a small cost and when we were able to enjoy this opportunity, I unfortunately suffered from the stomach flu and could not eat. The property has everything you need to sit outside and take in the breathtaking views. This B and B is especially well suited for a young family. With many outdoor activities awaiting children. Our Hosts have three children and we enjoyed getting to know them. This is a perfect location to tour the Chateaus and neighbouring villages. We even drove to Mount St. Michel from here. Canadians do not mind a three hour drives it seems. The local vineyards, troglodyte caves, architecture, food, and especially the people, will remain in our memories as something special. La Cave Margot tops the list of special memories made in Western France. Please stay for more than a night or two to take in all the ambiance and beauty of this lovely spot and relish in the warmth and care both Nathalie and Nicolas bestow upon you. We would make a trip just to stay at La Cave Margot again. This is a five star property with a small price tag!!!!

Second time…as perfect as the first

Nicolas and Nathalie were helpful and friendly, breakfast was excellent, the room clean and spacious and the beds were comfy. We'd stayed here before, the second time was just as perfect as the first.

    Loved this place

Loved this place. Nathalie and Nicholas were amazing. The bed was so comfortable. The room beautiful. Nathalie made a meal one evening which was outstanding. The facilities for kids were great - bunk bed (in separate room), trampoline, sand pit, climbing frame and chickens (which our girls loved).

    We will return....

    An amazing B and B

An amazing B and B. Delightful hosts Nathalie and Nicolas made us feel very welcome and looked after us very well. The Orangerie exceeded our expectations. Beautifully designed and furnished to a very high standard. The breakfasts were the best we have had at any of the many B and Bs we have used before. Will definitely go back and highly recommend it.

    Hidden gem

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at La Cave Margot. The term B&B does not do this place justice - it felt more like a luxury hotel but hosted by an extremely friendly, welcoming family.
The accommodation was very chic and spotlessly clean (the photographs are very accurate). Our family of 4 found the Orangerie Suite very spacious and comfortable. The garden is a child's dream come true - zip wires, large trampolines, hammocks, table tennis and more. Nathalie was v. knowledgeable re restaurants & day trips, and the food was delicious.

This place is a hidden gem, would highly recommend..

    What a special place

What a special place and so perfect for our family. We drove straight from Calais with our 3 small kids to a HUGE magical garden with zipwire, trampoline, donkeys, sandpit + toys. We stayed in I'Orangerie - huge bedroom for us and another lovely room for the kids, the rooms so comfy and beautifully done. Natalie and her family were so kind and friendly. She made us a very special family birthday supper on the terrace - absolutely delicious food. This place is a true find, right in the middle of the Loire with wonderful Chateaus to visit nearby and so many vineyards! We will definitely return.

Nicolas and Nathalie are very friendly hosts

We missed a (private or shared) refrigerator for our drinks and baby stuff. It could be a good idea to put up a ceiling fan, because the room can become very hot in summer.

Nicolas and Nathalie are very friendly hosts. They made us really feel welcome. Our 6 year old son loved the playground and the trampoline and to play with their 3 kids. The room was very tastefully decorated and spacious. The breakfast served by Nathalie was great. We absolutely loved our stay at La Cave Margot.

We, 3 Belgian befriended couples, stayed at La Cave Margot…

We, 3 Belgian befriended couples, stayed at La Cave Margot during the Pentecost weekend, and we don't regret it at all. Nathalie and Nicolas are really charming hosts, who run their B&B in a very personal and professional way. We occupied the 3 rooms, and they are all very nicely decorated, fully equipped, comfortable and clean. The large garden is also well designed, with nice corners to play, to relax and to enjoy the sunshine. We also made use of their dining facilities, and Nathalie didn't disappoint us at all, she can cook ! La Cave Margot was a very good starting point for a motorcycle tour combined with visiting the beautiful castles in the Loire region. The private parking place was very welcome to securely park our motorcycles. So YES, we highly recommend this B&B and hope to return there in the future !

One to add to our top five(getting crowded)

My wife and me stayed 3 nights at the 'La Cave Margot' second half sept 2014 and were fond of the place. The location 'off the beaten track' is very nice, peaceful and tucked away between fields and woods. In the village of Lunay sings are directing you the right place, once there suggest to register the place in your GPS since if arriving from the other side it might be difficult to find.
We were welcomed very nicely by the hosts Nathalie and Nicolas who are living in the house together with their 3 children.
The renovated house is rather large with a nice garden in front and looks really good.
Our room (on the first floor, with external staircase) was very nice, well decorated, very spacious and very well equiped (nice bed, enough room for clothes, television, wifi, nice shower cabin and a small fridge with cold drinks, against reasonable payment, is available).
In the morning we got a well prepared breakfast and Nathalie makes the effort of preparing something extra apart from the traditional bread and croissants and jams, a very good start of the day.

Although the loctation is perfect for those who are looking for some peace its is a bit distant to the available restaurants (the closest at Troo, is a 15 min drive). The area is glowing, ok for biking, but you have to be used to some 'hill-work'. For exploring some of the Loire castles/towns it will take you roughly one hour car drive to get there but on the way you can enjoy the nice countrysite.

For us it was the perfect location; quiet and with enough things to see within an hour radius.

Thanks very much Nathalie and Nicolas for this very enjoyable stay and hope to be back in a couple of years.

Travel as a Family in Loire Valley

I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough. It is absolutely wonderful, the attention to detail in the rooms is excellent. We stayed in the Orangerie suite, this accommodated us being 2 adults and 3 children. It was extremely spacious and well equipped. The hosts at this property are exemplary and make the B&B what it is, they think of everything and go the extra mile for every guest. Nothing is too much trouble and they are constantly working to keep the B&B in the best condition. It was well placed to visit surrounding areas each within about 30-90 mins distance. We will definitely return.

    Superb

Our suite had everything-large comfortable bed, splendid bathroom, separate lounge area complete with small fridge and outside there were tables and chairs for relaxing.

On our first night we joined four other guests for a hosts dinner, they were all French but we managed to all converse and had a great night.

Breakfast is served at a large table which was covered with breads and croissants and Nathalie cooked pancakes for us one day and french toast the other.

A lovely place to stay and a superb hostess. I don't know how she does it with three young children!

    Excellence

We stayed in La Cave Margot for three nights in September. Clearly Nathalie and Nicolas have put a lot of work into starting this business and they deserve great credit for what they have established. The accommodation we had (a suite by any standard) was spacious and very comfortable and the breakfasts were amazing and varied. Our hosts were very generous with their time and advice and our whole visit had a feel good factor about it.

    Highly recommended.

Travel as a Family in Loire Valley

Everything about this B&B is special. We went as two families with 5 children under 7 and they were wowed by la Cave Margot as much as we were. The farmhouse conversion has been delivered with taste and style and the rooms are all very spacious and luxurious. It is a place were adults feel they are staying somewhere special yet there is endless entertainment for the children, not to mention feeding the donkeys ! The breakfast was delicious and Nathalie and Nicolas are great fun and perfect hosts.

We stayed at La cave Margot for one night to break the journey from the Languedoc to Ouistreham. Nathalie and Nicolas were warm and welcoming. Our bedroom was large and cosy, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished and we had our own sitting room and luxurious shower room. The breakfast of "eggy bread", homemade granola, yogurt, cheese and much more was delicious. We enjoyed talking in French and English with the very friendly hosts and we would have loved to stay for longer to explore the beautiful local area. We would definitely visit La Cave Margot again
